Biography

A trailblazer of the sport in this country and a Republic of Ireland national team centurion, Áine made her international debut in the 2006 Algarve Cup. Her first of 13 international goals came in 2008 in a 4-1 friendly victory over Poland in Baldonnel. Áine was part of the history-making national team squad that qualified for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand before announcing her International retirement after the tournament.

Áine’s career began at Stella Maris during which time she was selected to represent Leinster and was part of the squad that won the 2009 interprovincial championship. Áine then made the switch to Peamount where she scored a hat-trick in the 2010 FAI Cup final in a 4-2 win over Galway’s Salthill Devon.

After a spell playing in England’s WSL with Doncaster Rovers Belles and domestically with UCD Waves, Áine spent the majority of her career with the Greenogue based side.

A serial winner, our club captain’s medal haul of 2 league titles, 2 FAI Cups and 2 League Cups, also includes a Wicklow Senior Ladies Championship medal during her time playing Gaelic football with Bray Emmetts. The 5 time Golden Boot winner will be looking to add to her collection in 2024 by lifting silverware in Dublin 24.
