Was it a very happy dressing room after getting the win in Drogheda and putting ourselves into the draw for the FAI Cup quarter-finals?

Yes, we were delighted. The aim was to make sure that we were in the next round, and we achieved that, so it was a happy dressing room alright.

Rovers took an early lead through Sean Gannon and did we have enough chances in the first half to maybe put the game to bed?

I felt that we had some really good opportunities in the first half, and we should have been more ruthless, but we weren’t and they stayed in the game.

We dominated that first half but found ourselves on the back foot for much of the second half. Were you disappointed with the way the equaliser came?

We were disappointed with the second half as a whole. We never really got going. I know we’ve had a busy schedule but we were poor enough, and we allowed them back into the game, and then we have given away a poor goal from our point of view.

It was Jack Byrne’s first start since May because of injury and you handed Leon Pohls his third appearance of the season. How do you think they did?

Both were excellent. It was great to get Jack his first start in a while, he did really well. The plan was always to give him 60 minutes and he came off without a knock. Leon was excellent too. He is getting better and better and you can see the levels of maturity and calmness that he has developed now.

How did you feel the team were looking in extra-time, in terms of fitness and the energy our subs gave us before Andy Lyons’ superb strike?

Considering the schedule that we have had and that is coming, I thought that the players were excellent. We knew that the subs would play an important part as they do in every game, and we showed that on Sunday.

And it was announced that Andy will leave in the new year after a fantastic season with the Hoops. Was it important for both the club and Andy that he saw out the full campaign and played a part in the group stages?

There wouldn’t have been a deal to be done if that wasn’t the case. Stephen McPhail has been dealing with that for a number of weeks, and we were adamant that Andy stayed on. Blackpool wanted him now, but it was really important that we kept him for what is an important run-in for us, we’re delighted that he is here for the remainder of the season.

It’ll be Derry away in the quarter-finals, three days after Gent in Belgium. So we’ll have to do it the hard way to get to another final?

Yes, it’s a hard draw, but we have a lot of football to play before then and when that comes around I am sure that we will be ready.

How much are the group looking forward to the Bohs game now?

It’s the next big game for us. That is the mindset that the players are in. We are rolling from big game to big game, and that’s where we want to be. Tomorrow is no different, we’re looking forward to it.

All three Dublin Derbies have gone our way this season and having to go to Dalymount for the fourth and final league meeting, could that add even more to the atmosphere for both players and fans?

Our aim is to go and win the game and take another step towards winning the League, which is one of our goals. We know it’s important to go there and perform to pick up the three points.

We often see a reaction from teams after a change of manager. Do you feel Keith Long leaving Bohs will have an effect on Friday’s game?

I’m sure that there will be a reaction, but we can’t affect that. We have no control over that, we will go there and control what we do. If we go and perform to our levels the result will look after itself.

Did any new injuries come out of the Drogheda game?

No new injuries to report.

Chris McCann made the bench last Sunday but are Graham and Simon any closer to being involved?

Both are doing really well and could be involved tomorrow. Chris will definitely be involved.
