Stephen Bradley gave his thoughts on last Friday’s home win and this evening’s game away v Waterford FC. Kick off at the RSC is 7pm.

What did you take out of Friday’s 6-0 win over Cork City?

“I’m delighted with the six goals and the clean sheet but having watched it back I thought we started the game really poorly. In the first 20 minutes we were really sloppy and that was very unlike us. Although we’re delighted with the win and all the goals we do need to improve that aspect.
I think the referee has made the right decision with the red card, he jumps off the ground with two feet. Cork started better than us and they had one or two chances but then we scored we settled down. We got another goal and they had a man sent off so that sort of killed them off. It allowed us to really dominate the game from that time on.
There’s different highlights from the goals, some good stuff attached to all of them but it’s just pleasing when they hit the back of the net. It doesn’t matter too much how it happens once they hit the net. They all count.
Graham Burke’s all-round game was very good and he obviously scored five goals. He was very aggressive in his thinking with the amount of shots on goal he had and he got his rewards with the five goals. He was excellent on the night. You don’t see it very often in any game or any league around the world so it’s great for him that he went and scored five..
The support we got, over 5,000 was fantastic considering the conditions and it was great to get back on the pitch at Tallaght. The groundsmen have it in unbelievable condition for this time of year. It was great to get out there, get the ball down and get playing. It’s two games, six points and obviously six goals and none conceded so we’re happy with a decent start to the season.”
What are your thoughts on Monday’s game in Waterford?
“We watched them against St Pat’s when they were very good on the night and deserved the win. We saw the game back against Bohs the other night and I think the conditions really killed it for both teams and Waterford lost the game on small margins. They have threats all over the pitch, it’ll be a difficult game but it’s one that we’re fully focused on and ready for.”
Injury News:

“Graham Burke got a knock the other night, we’ll have to see how that settles over the next 24 hours but other than that we’re OK. Joey O’Brien is fine, it wasn’t an injury against Cork [when he was substituted]. It was purely the fact that we were two up and they’d a man sent off and he was already booked. We didn’t want to take any chances, with the conditions all it would have taken was a slip or something like that for a second yellow. It was just a precaution.”
